Travel
Where can I camp with the van in Norway?
Norway is a camper’s paradise! Thanks to the "Right to Roam" (Allemannsretten), you can experience wild camping on uncultivated land and wake up to stunning views. Just remember a few golden rules:
- Keep at least 150 meters from inhabited houses or cabins
- Stay a maximum of 2 nights in one spot (unless signs say otherwise)
- Leave no trace—pack out everything you bring in
- Respect private property and nature reserves
For extra comfort, Norway also offers plenty of scenic campgrounds with facilities. We’ll send you a digital guide to our favorite spots—get ready for adventure!
Are there road restrictions I should know about?
Norway’s roads can take you from dramatic fjords to mountain plateaus, but some routes aren’t suitable for larger vehicles like campervans. For your safety and the van’s, please avoid bumpy, narrow, or steep roads, and stick to Norway, Sweden, or North-West Finland. Always follow local traffic rules and never drive under the influence—adventure is best enjoyed responsibly!
Can I drive the campervan in winter?
Our campervans are all about summer adventures! We don’t rent out during the winter months, so plan your journey for the warmer seasons when Norway’s landscapes are at their most breathtaking and the roads are open for exploration.
Are there tolls in Norway?
Yes, Norway’s epic road trips sometimes come with tolls. No worries—our vans have an Autopass card, so you can cruise through toll stations without stopping. After your adventure, we’ll simply deduct the total toll amount from your deposit. No paperwork, no hassle—just more time for exploring!
What should I know about ferries in Norway?
Ferries are part of the Norwegian adventure! They connect fjords and islands, letting you discover hidden gems along the coast. Ferry schedules can change with the seasons, so check ahead if you’re planning a route. Costs aren’t included in your rental, but we’ll deduct them from your deposit after your trip—easy and seamless, so you can focus on the journey.
What should I pack for my campervan trip?
Pack for adventure and comfort! We recommend:
- Layered clothing for Norway’s ever-changing weather
- Sturdy shoes for spontaneous hikes
- Personal toiletries and towels
- Chargers for your gadgets (USB ports are ready)
- Snacks and food for the road
- Your driver’s license and travel documents
- Any medications you need
We’ve got the basics covered—kitchenware and bedding are included. Just bring your sense of adventure!

Insurance
What insurance is included and what is my liability?
The rental price includes limited liability insurance. In case of damage, you are responsible for a deductible of up to €2,300 per incident. We strongly recommend that you secure additional insurance to cover the deposit and deductible—many of our guests use rentalcover.com for this purpose. It’s a great way to travel with extra peace of mind!
Insurance does not cover personal belongings or replacement keys. In case of theft, only equipment belonging to the vehicle is covered.
